Sharon Siddique
Director
Dr Sharon Siddique focuses on political analysis, industry studies, policy design and urban planning issues. She has over 35 years of experience in research and analysis of critical issues on Southeast Asia.
Dr Siddique was previously the Deputy Director of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore where she was responsible for the Institute’s research activities. She has worked for clients in several industries including airlines, manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, oil and gas, infrastructure development and the financial sector. Her work has involved policy and strategy design, efficiency and operations improvement, risk analysis and implementation of strategies. She has also advised on policy issues related to industrial development in Southeast Asia and southern Africa.
Dr Siddique is a noted authority on religion and social issues in Southeast Asia and has published extensively on these and other issues. She holds a PhD in Development Sociology from the University of Bielefeld (Germany), an MA in Malay Studies from the University of Singapore, and a BA in Linguistics from the University of Montana (USA). Dr Siddique is fluent in several languages including Malay, Bahasa Indonesia and German.
